Murders and Executions

It's no secret that I'm fascinated with the dark comedy and satire of Bret Easton Ellis' hyper violent book American Psycho. So you can imagine my glee upon finding these, albeit a little late considering the context.. but it's never too late for another Bateman reference--or models. See the rest of this pretty awesome shoot.

Don't leave

It's safe to say that as often I've said "I hate everyone" and as anti-social I can be, I have great fondness for the people I do like.

Working in advertising, people come and go very frequently. The average span of a stint at one agency can be as short as a couple years before you feel like you've achieved what you could and you leap to greener pastures in order to continue building your book and receiving accolades.

So we have a lot of goodbye parties. But the problem with that is, although I'm happy for my soon to be ex-colleague, I'm also sad to see the person leave my daily routine/life as I know it. Two years is just enough time for me to know I'm really fond of someone and get truly attached.

Sometimes the person is someone I hardly hung out with outside of work but I just really like them and think they're really great. Occasionally the person is someone I'd gotten really close to and the idea of them leaving sends me into an inner panic attack close to how middle school was when your best friend was absent and you knew you had to eat lunch alone that day.

Tonight I was reunited with a friend who I'd missed terribly in the last month and what she said upon giving me a hug was really apt; "I miss you so much I feel like I need to give you something." I knew exactly what she meant.

Week 1

Sorry Week 2 people, but it's true. We saw that Tupac hologram first.

After all that whining and dreading of desert heat and crowd, Coachella proved me wrong by being 1. cool and overcast, downright cold at times 2. fun and 3. and you don't notice the crowd at all because you're too inebriated to give a damn.

Refused–the sole reason I went to Coachella, was everything I'd imagined and more. They did not disappoint. Dennis Lyxzen is intense.. so much energy. After about 5 minutes of being thrown around in the mosh pit the thought "this seemed like a good idea at the tiiiiime?" did flit through my head (after all boys can be bigger than girls). But I was wearing my boots so I freely trampled on the feet of many ex-sXe kids. It was worth James almost breaking his nose to experience the late 90's again. This officially goes in my top 5 after the epic My Bloody Valentine reunion of 2009.

Jarvis sends out cosmic energy.

PULP!! So good. So drama.  A dapper Jarvis Cocker flirted, ate grapes Adonis-style.. and tossed 'confectionaries' at us. Everything has an undertone of sex with Jarvis, as he aptly demonstrated for us by grinding the floor while 'This is Hardcore'.

Buzzcocks. Need I say more...the old familiar logo itself takes me back to the numerous Buzzcocks pins we wore in high school.

Phase 1. Positively radiant. Excited to be here!

Phase 2. We party.

Phase 2.5. We get bellig

Phase 3. We go mad and pass out.

Happy Easter

It has to be said. I made a fool of myself again at that godamn CVS. They really ought to put up a sign--"Line starts here". Either that, or I need to stop spacing out. Seriously though, it's the stupidest layout ever in that the registers are all on one long horizontal bar...it's inviting free-for-all situations, in which the first person to the counter wins.
